Local Bus Services 246, 248 and 249 in the Uckfield and Crowborough areas are now operating normally. In line with Government regulations all passengers are asked to wear a mask when travelling on these services (unless you are one of those who are statutorily exempt as defined by HM Government) and to observe social distancing on the bus at all times.
Please note that local bus services 131 and 132 serving Lewes are currently suspended for the duration of the Covid-19 crisis. The services will be reinstated as soon as conditions improve.
Community Transport for the Lewes Area (CTLA) have, by special arrangement with East Sussex County Council, agreed wherever possible to assist passengers of any age who are affected by the suspension or reduction in service levels of local bus services by CTLA or Compass Travel (bus routes 121, 122, 123, 125, 126, 128, 129, 143, 145, 166, 167 and 168). Those who still need to make vital journeys but are unable to do so on the above bus routes should contact the CTLA office on Mondays to Fridays between 8.00 am and 4.00 pm to see if they can be accommodated through expanded hours of operation on the 4 Towns, Lewes and Eastbourne Dial a Ride services. Journeys must be booked in advance no later than 4 pm on the working day prior to travel by calling 01273 517332. Passengers with a Concessionary Pass, who would normally have travelled on these Compass Travel and Cuckmere Buses services, will also be able to use the replacement Dial a Ride arrangement for free during the current Covid-19 crisis period.
