About Travel Club

Our travel club brings interesting and entertaining opportunities to members including trips to the cinema, gardening centres, coffee shops, theatres, cultural centres and more.

There are NO restrictions on free membership and a monthly newsletter is sent out, giving information and booking details on the next month’s trips. There is no obligation to book and you are collected from home, with our excellent door-to-door service.

Residents of Seaford, Newhaven, Peacehaven, Telscombe Cliffs and East Saltdean (and surrounding villages) can join the Havens Club.

Residents of Lewes and the surrounding villages can join the Lewes Club.

Trips - South Coast

Tuesday, 3rd January – Stonecross Garden Centre – Stone Cross is dedicated to being the best plant and garden centre in the South. Providing customers with quality plants and garden products. Have a browse around and then why not treat yourself to lunch at the Grape Vine café. Up to 3 hours to browse.

Wednesday, 4th January – Believe Ice Show – this was advertised in the September Newsletter and the bus is now booked up.

Friday, 6th January – Raystede Tour & Lunch – a 1 hour tour has been arranged at 11.30pm – visit the cattery, kennels, aviaries, equine barn, sanctuary area and the small animals and then on to lunch at the on-site café. A £5 donation is required for Raystede please give to the driver on the day. Lunch booked for 12.30pm.

Saturday, 7th January – Langney Market & Sovereign Harbour – based at Langney shopping centre this Saturday Market open from 9am is very popular. You will have the opportunity to purchase local produce such as meat, vegetables, cakes and jams as well as locally made crafts. After a browse we will then take you to Sovereign Harbour where you can get a bite to eat from the wide selection of cafes and restaurants or maybe look around some of the larger stores. Pickups start at 8:30am.
Sunday, 8th January – Yew Tree Inn – this is a favourite as the Inn is situated in the picturesque village of Arlington. The owners Peter and Joan are passionate about their food and service, so we are confident you will have an enjoyable lunch. Lunch is booked for 12 noon.

Tuesday, 10th January – The Pavilion Café, Seaford – this has been suggested by one of our Travel Club members. 2 course lunch from £10. Lunch booked for 12.30pm.

Wednesday, 11th January – County Mall, Crawley – is situated in the heart of Crawley town centre and has over 90 of your favourite high street shops. It’s a great shopping centre and has something for everyone, including a fantastic food court. The Mall has full disabled access and facilities. Shop Mobility is available and should be booked in advance by calling 01293 522852 alternatively you can email crawleyshopmob@hotmail.co.uk Up to 3 hours to browse. Pick ups start at 8.30am.

Friday, 13th January – Inn on the Park – the Inn is set in the 175 acre Deanland Wood Park at Golden Cross. Friday is the Fish & Chip menu – choice of cod, haddock, plaice, scampi at a cost of £7.50 & desserts at £3.95 – no starters available on a Friday. Lunch booked for 1pm.
Saturday, 14th January – Polesden Lacey – an Edwardian house and estate. It is located on the North Downs at Great Bookham, near Dorking, Surrey and is owned and run by the National Trust. It is one of the National Trust’s most popular properties. Entry fee – £13.60 house & grounds or £8.50 grounds only (free if you are a National Trust Member so please remember to bring your card). Why not have lunch in the Granary café or try the Cowshed coffee shop & deli. Up to 3 hours to browse. Access – Grounds are partly accessible, loose gravel paths, steps and uneven terrain. Single seater PMV & wheelchairs are available (booking essential ring 01372 452048). House – ramped entrance, ground floor accessible but has small rooms, uneven floors. Stairs only to balcony and bedroom. Adapted toilet in main toilet block at entrance and restaurant.
Sunday, 15th January – Berwick Inn – country pub dining. Starters from £5.25, Mains from £9.50 & Desserts from £5.95. Lunch booked for 1pm.
Tuesday, 17th January – Middle Farm – nestling at the foot of Firle Beacon on the South Downs in Sussex, Middle Farm is a 625 acre working family farm. Lunch booked for 1pm.
Wednesday, 18th January – Ditchling Museum of Art + Craft & Ditchling Garden Centre – a 1 hour Museum tour has been booked from 11.30am to 12.30am. Then onto the Ditchling Garden Centre – up to 2 hours to browse. Entrance fee including Tour £9. A £9 non-refundable payment must be received by 11th January.
Friday, 20th January – Bentley Wildfowl & Motor Museum – a free tour has been arranged of the ground floor of the house and then a light lunch at the Southdowns Pantry Restaurant. Food available – soup at £3.10 or £4.95, sandwiches to include salad from £4.95, breakfasts from £7.50, jacket potatoes from £5.80 or cream teas from £5.40, plus specials from £6. Lunch booked for 1pm.
Saturday, 21st January – Free Day in Worthing – shopping is a real delight in Worthing, with safe pedestrianised streets and covered shopping centres. With over 400 retail stores in the Town Centre as well as plenty of opportunity to take the weight of your feet and enjoy some refreshment. Up to 3 hours to browse and explore the Town, have lunch or meet up with some friends.

Sunday, 22nd January – Boship Farm Hotel – enjoy lunch at this Hotel located in Lower Dicker. Carvery – 2 courses £9.95 or 3 courses £15.95 to include tea or coffee. Lunch booked for 1pm.

Monday, 23rd January – Squires Garden Centre, Washington – the garden centre has been a thriving part of the community for over 20 years and now includes a huge plant area and great gardening products, gifts, pets, aquatics and garden furniture as well as a farm shop, pottery painting studio and Squire’s Café Bar. It also boasts the largest range of water features in the area. Up to 3 hours to browse.

Thursday, 26th January – Shopping Shuttle – – we will drop you either at Sainsbury or Lidls in Newhaven or Morrisons in Seaford. You will have around 2 hours to shop before we come and collect you. Please let the office know at the time of booking which store you wish to visit. Peacehaven and Newhaven members may be dropped off and collected at different times to the Seaford members.

Saturday, 28th January – Barn Theatre Pantomime – Cinderella – this year’s pantomime performed by Seaford Musical Theatre. Proven family fun, packed with great songs and anticipated corny jokes, it is sure to be a great afternoon. Performance starts at 2.30pm. Tickets £7 each (thanks to a fantastic discount Seaford Musical Theatre has kindly given to every Travel Club member). A £7 non-refundable payment must be received by 11th January.

Sunday, 29th January – Wheatsheaf, Cuckfield – this 19th century Inn is situated on the B2184 on the edge of the historic village of Cuckfield. Starters from £5.25, Mains from £10.95 & Desserts from £5.95. Lunch booked for 1pm.

Tuesday, 31st January – Holmbush & Longshore – a few hours shopping in Next, Tesco’s and Marks & Spencer, then lunch is booked for 1.30pm at the Longshore. If you would prefer to stay at Holmbush then please can you let us know at the time of booking. Remember that the Longshore offers 2 meals for the price of 1 so why not buddy up and enjoy a saving!
