About Travel Club

Our travel club brings interesting and entertaining opportunities to members including trips to the cinema, gardening centres, coffee shops, theatres, cultural centres and more.

There are NO restrictions on free membership and a monthly newsletter is sent out, giving information and booking details on the next month’s trips. There is no obligation to book and you are collected from home, with our excellent door-to-door service.

Residents of Seaford, Newhaven, Peacehaven, Telscombe Cliffs and East Saltdean (and surrounding villages) can join the Havens Club.

Residents of Lewes and the surrounding villages can join the Lewes Club.

Trips 2016 - South Coast

November comes and November goes. With the last red berries and the first white snows.
With night coming early and dawn coming fate and ice in the bucket and frost by the gate.
The fires burn and the kettles sing and earth sinks to rest until next spring.

Tuesday, 1st November — Holmbush & The Swiss Cottaqe – a few hours shopping in Next, Tesco’s and Marks & Spencer, then lunch is booked for 1.30pm at The Swiss Cottage, which is a family pub restaurant offering a great range of delicious meals and square deals. If you would prefer to stay at Holmbush then please can you let us know at the time Of booking.

Wednesday, 2nd November — Paradise Park — Timely Talk — “Winter Prunes” – the best cuts for your plants to keep them in order, plus a look at topical plants. Special plant offer. The talk starts at 11am in the Coffee Shop and lasts approximately 50 minutes. Free entry, Free tea or coffee in the interval After the talk you will have time for a browse around the garden centre and enjoy a light lunch.

Friday, 4th November — Qualisea, Eastbourne – enjoy a fish lunch at this traditional Fish ‘n Chip shop Friendly & reasonably priced, this restaurant is just a stone’s throw away from Eastbourne’s beautiful seafront. Fish’n Chips from £5.80. Lunch is booked for 12 noon.

Saturday, 5th November — Gunpowder Plot, Hydro Hotel — this was advertised in our June Newsletter and is sold out.

Sunday, 6th November — Crafts for Christmas, Maidstone — new products and ideas are a feature Of every Crafts for Christmas event. Indulge yourself. family and friends with gifts such as jewellery, leather bags. belts, scarves, luxury soaps to name but a few. Entry fee £6 payable on the day. Fair opens from 9am to 4pm. Picks up start from 8am. Up to 3 hours to browse. All day trip.

Tuesday, 8th November – Chichester Cathedral Lunch Time Concert & Russels Garden centre
see Artur Hafman on piano at Chichester Cathedral’s popular Lunchtime Concert which takes place on Tuesday, 8 November, 2016 commencing at 1:10pm set in the spectacular Cathedral Nave. The Concert is free and lasts approximately 50 minutes (there is a retiring collection), You are welcome to come and go as you please. Coffee is available at no charge and some visitors even bring a sandwich! Then at 2pm onto Russells Garden Centre for a cup of tea/coffee and a couple Of hours to browse.

Wednesday. 9th November — Vintage Inn, Beachy Head – the Beachy Head in Eastbourne is a country pub oozing rural charm and rustic character. The picturesque surroundings provide the perfect backdrop for savouring the hearty, seasonal pub-food on the menu, Starters from £3.95, Mains from £9.50 & Desserts from £4.95, Lunch booked for 1pm.

Friday, 11th November — Shopping in Burgess Hill – choose between visiting the Market Place or Martletts Shopping Centre or for those Who are able, Why not visit both. Burgess Hill offers a good selection of shops, the market place offers everything you need in just one place. When you need a rest you will have plenty of cafes or restaurants to choose from. This is a free day, perfect for those of you who want to meet up With friends or who want to please yourself. Up to 3 hours to browse. Pick-ups will start from 9am.

Saturday, 12th November — Blind Veterans Fair & Concert, Ovinqdean — this was advertised in our September Newsletter and is now sold out.

Sunday, 13th November – Christmas Fair, Amex Stadium — You could find everything on your list all under one roof! From the moment you arrive at the American Express Community Stadium, home Of Brighton & Hove Albion FC you will be caught up in the Christmas spirit and atmosphere of this fantastic Christrnas shopping Fair, You will have the opportunity to see over 100 exhibitors across 3 floors including; Christmas gift ideas, decorations, home accessories, food & drink to try 8 buy. fashion & beauty, Entry fee £5 payable on the day. Fair opens from 10am to 4pm and we have been advised it would be best to arrive by 10.30am, therefore, picks-ups will start from 8am. Up to 3 hours to browse.

Monday, 14th November — Sprinq Barn Farm – enjoy a cosy lunch in their Farmhouse Kitchen Restaurant. Well known for using seasonal produce, choose from hearty soups, farmers lunch or select something from their specials board, After lunch you can browse around their gift and farm shop. Lunch booked for 1pm.

Tuesday, 15th November – Hillcrest Lunch — always a good trip as you will have the opportunity to enjoy a home cooked lunch and the chance to meet some of the CTLA team, prices are £6 for a main course and puddings are £2.8O. Lunch booked for 12.30 pm.

Wednesday, 16th November — Worthing Market – Worthing Market open from 9am to 5pm is a hugely popular outdoor market that has over 75 pitches set out through the main pedestrian shopping area, The site is surrounded by good cafes for when you need to rest your feet. Up to 3 hours to browse. Pick-ups will start from 9am.

Friday, 18th November — Wyevale Garden Centre, Crawley – Crawley Garden Centre started life Over 30 years ago. Originally known as Wakehams Green Nurseries, the site became part Of Wyevale Garden Centres family in 1996. Over the past few years the site has been extensively improved inside and out. These improvements include a fully covered walkway through the plant area along with a fully revamped garden restaurant which serves home-made produce sourced locally. Up to 3 hours to browse.

Sunday, 20th November — Pelham Arms, Lewes — friendly service, vintage ambience, amazing food and drinks in this traditional pub. Starters from £6, Mains from £13 & Desserts from £6.50. Lunch booked for 1pm.

Monday, 21st November – Polhill Garden Centre, Sevenoaks — this is a family owned business with over 50 years of gardening experience. A great place to meet up with friends and family with a great restaurant where you can relax and enjoy light snacks, breakfasts, lunches and afternoon teas. Picks-ups will start from 8am. Up to 3 hours to browse. All day trip.

Thursday, 24th November — Shopping Shuttle – we will drop you either at Sainsburys or Lidls in Newhaven or Morrisons in Seaford You will have around 2 hours to shop before we come and collect you. Please let the office know at the time of booking which store you wish to visit, Peacehaven and Newhaven members may be dropped off and collected at different times to the Seaford members.

Saturday, 26th November — Ditchling Garden Centre – Garden Pride Garden Centre in Ditchling is the 48th largest garden centre in the UK. It is family owned and has undergone considerable expansion Over the years to turn it into a modern and large garden centre. The outdoor plant area is large and very pleasantly designed With lots of interesting features to break up the area into compartments. All paths are solid surface and the plants are attractively displayed. The cafe serves snacks, cakes, main meals and a choice of hot and cold drinks including wines and beers. Up to 3 hours to browse.

Sunday, 27th November — Arun View, Littlehampton – enjoy a leisure y drive down to Littlehampton to the wonderful Arun View. Situated On the side Of the River Arum, this Inn offers a relaxed venue, wonderful view, friendly staff along with great home cooking, what more can you ask for. Starters from £5.50, Mains from £9.95 & Desserts from £5.75. Lunch booked for 12.30pm.

Tuesday, 29th November — Chalk Farm Hotel, Eastbourne — enjoy a leisurely lunch at the Chalk Farm Hotel with a welcoming end friendly environment, quality service and a beautiful location. Starters from £2.95, Mains from £7.95 & Desserts from £3.50 or special offer 3 Courses for £14. Lunch booked for 12.30pm.

Wednesday, 30th November — Squires Garden Centre, Milford – enjoy a scenic drive through West Sussex into the heart of Surrey to Godalming. This garden centre has come highly recommended. with a wide variety of indoor and outdoor plants, garden products and gifts for all occasions. Lunch can be enjoyed in their café which is on site. Up to 3 hours to browse.
