Peacehaven Taxi Rider
What is Taxi Rider?
Taxi Rider is a local transport service for the residents of Peacehaven, Telscombe Cliffs and East Saltdean.
The service runs from Monday to Friday and offers a door to door transport service to take you shopping, to the bank, the doctors, Day Care Centres and to see your friends.
We will also take you to connect with bus services at the Meridian Centre or South Coast Road.
Older people, or people who have difficulty using conventional bus services will find Taxi Rider a real help in meeting their day to day local travel needs.
The vehicle provides easy access for passengers – including people who wish to travel in their wheelchairs.
You need to register as a user of Taxi Rider before booking, but membership is free and is easily obtained by filling in the the online application form.

We have divided Peacehaven into three zones.
Within a zone or to/from the Town Centre and any other zone:
Countycard holders: Free
Child fare: 90p
Children under 5: Free (if accompanied by a fare paying passenger)
Each zone is served approximately hourly between 0930 to 1430 and 1600 to 1730.
There is no service between 1430 and 1600.
The service is planned to give a regular service to and from the central area of Peacehaven.
When you want to use the service, telephone Community Transport for the Lewes Area on 01273 517332, giving as much notice as possible.
You will be told if your request can be accepted and the time that you will be picked up.
To avoid delay, it is important for you to be ready when the vehicle arrives.
You need to register as a user of Taxi Rider before you can book a journey. You qualify for membership (which is free of charge) if you fulfil one of the following conditions:
- You either hold or would qualify for a Countycard concessionary pass
- You have any form of mobility difficulty that prevents you using other local bus services.
- You cannot access other public transport e.g. there is not suitable, convenient local bus service.
You can become a member by completing the on-line form. Membership is free of charge.
