Beacon Link Service

The Beacon Link Bus Service is a local transport service for Wadhust and Mayfield and providing a new link to Crowborough. It is jointly funded by ESCC,  Mayfield and Wadhurst Parish Council.

This service stops at fixed bus stops and other points where safe to do so between Wadhurst and Mayfield (Canterbury Court), then operates non-stop to Crowborough (Croft Road car park). It makes a further stop at Crowborough Hospital if requested by passengers.

Who can use the service?

Anyone can use the service between Wadhurst and Mayfield. However, you are not permitted to travel between Mayfield and Rotherfield unless you have a disability that prevents you from using public bus service 52.

How much does it cost?

The fares vary with the length of your journey. For example a single adult fare between Snape View and Wadhurst Post Office, or Southmead Close and Mayfield Post Office is 50p. The fare from Mayfield Post Office and Crowborough is £1.90, and from Wadhurst or Snape View to Crowborough is £2.20.
