Charity Champions

The Charity Champions scheme is an innovative and responsive approach that heavily involves service users and community contacts and is shaped by their needs to help bring about real change.

CTLA is looking for enthusiastic volunteers to raise community awareness of our services, recruit new members, help fundraise or recruit fundraising supporters, feedback on current services and have an input into the development of new services and ideas.

We know from national and local evidence that using a community engagement approach is cost effective and leads to  improved health and well-being because it:

  • Uses local people’s experiential knowledge to design or improve services, leading to more appropriate, effective, cost-effective and sustainable services.
  • Empowers people by giving them opportunities to co-produce services.
  • Increases confidence and self-esteem and gives people an increased sense of control over decisions affecting their lives.
  • Builds trust by improving accountability.
  • Encourages health-enhancing attitudes and behaviour in the community.

What would a CTLA Charity Champion be expected to do?

A CTLA Charity Champion would ‘champion’ our cause at every opportunity; support our charitable goals and ethos, give feedback and have input to focus our positive changes and improvements.
