Patients registered to surgeries in Newhaven and Peacehaven can request free and accessible transport from their home to local GP practices, Lewes Victoria Hospital, the Downs Polyclinic, and clinics at School Hill Surgery, Lewes.
This is thanks to a transport partnership between the NHS High Weald Lewes Havens CCG in conjunction with CTLA Community Transport.
The CCG, the local GP led body responsible for planning local health service has commissioned this non-emergency transport scheme from community transport charity CTLA following feedback from local patients who struggled to access local health services. By aiding patients and enabling them to make better use of the range of services available at local GP practices and Minor Injury Unit in Lewes Victoria Hospital, commissioners also hope to reduce some pressure on nearby accident and emergency departments.
The transport is available for patients registered with any of the following four GP practices in Newhaven and Peacehaven.
Rowe Avenue Surgery, Peacehaven
Meridian Surgery (Anchor Healthcare centre), Peacehaven
Quayside Medical Practice. Newhaven
Chapel Street Surgery Newhaven
Patients must be registered to request the transport service. Registration is free and can be completed over the phone. For more information, to register for the service or to make a booking please contact CTLA on 01273 612332.
